Having healthy, shiny hair full of vitality is easier than you think! Routine, care, tips, we tell you everything to give you dream hair.

Choosing the right shampoo
We all tend to choose our shampoo according to the lengths often dried out by coloring, drying, and smoothing. However, it is better to choose it according to the scalp’s needs, if it tends to “regrease” after two or three days, and treat the ends separately. Opt for a cleanser for oily hair enriched with absorbent (clay, vegetable charcoal) and purifying (thyme, sage, citron, nettle, etc.) ingredients. And if a weekly shampoo is sufficient, favor formulas for normal to dry hair, enriched with moisturizing and softening agents (aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, shea, etc.). In any case, avoid shampoos based on sulfate derivatives, as these detergents foam a lot but dry out and can be a source of irritation.

Rinse longer
To obtain the same shine at home as at the hairdresser, we do as he does: we use and abuse rinsing to perfectly remove dirt, sebum, and pollution particles. The trick? Stop when you feel the locks crunch under your fingers, i.e., three good minutes of rinsing with your watch in hand. To further boost shine and facilitate detangling, finish with a jet of cool water or even a glass of rinsing vinegar to tighten the keratin scales.

Treat roots and lengths separately.
Should I systematically apply a conditioner? It depends on the nature of the hair. If they are naturally dry, yes, if they are somewhat oily at the roots and dry on the lengths, yes, always but only on the measurements. Finally, if they are thin like those of babies and lack hold, it is better to avoid so as not to weigh down the hair more. Finally, know that there are also specific treatments for the scalp (anti-itch, anti-dandruff, anti-hair loss). These apply to the roots, not the lengths.

Detangle gently
Brush or comb? Ideally, the first is preferred to purify the hair daily, especially when using styling products (hairspray, gel, wax), and to massage the scalp, and the second to detangle the lengths. The anti-breakage trick? Always start with the tips, working your way up to the roots, not the other way around. If necessary, apply a dab of leave-in moisturizer to facilitate the operation.

Dry gently
Drying in the open air is ideal, but if you can’t do without the dryer, a few precautions are essential to avoid dehydrating your hair. Invest in a quality hairdryer with adjustable temperature. Absorb as much water as possible from the hair with a towel (without rubbing) to reduce drying time as much as possible. Hold the device’s tip 20 centimeters from the locks and dry by directing it towards the ends, not towards the roots against the hair for gleaming and less dry hair.
