I also have an MIDI and it works fine in Spain for Hotspot, depending on the SIM card. Some allow Tethering, some don’t. Check before purchase.
I just bought an Orange SIM (20Gb) and it allows tethering.

For some reason my LG phone gave some phone vendors problems in 2017, and in one place in Spain they never got it working (and I never got my 10 euros back that the card cost), and in another – in Portugal – it took staff about an hour to figure out what needed to be changed in the settings to make their standard card work. That was when you needed a different SIM in each country, before the EU-wide roaming rule came in.

My recollection is that the Orange shop in Seville got the SIM to work readily after the Portugal fix, but Vodaphone could not.

OTOH we had good luck with a EU-wide SIM later that year, bought in Amsterdam and working happily in Stockholm, Paris and London.

Went to Vodaphone and I would have had to wait an hour to get served, no info in the shop. Finally stopped at a hole in the wall shop and got a Simyo card for 10€ with 5 gigs data and enough calls to suit. Not sure about the speed of the data, seems very slow but it has got me out of trouble a few times. Quite happy.

– You can use LeBara (UK or EU SIM) card throughtout Eurpe, no roaming but nuissance dialing countrycode, etc. eg UK LeBara SIM when used in Spain, to call accross street in Spaon, you have to use it as long distance call: country code, etc. Best to buy/switch to local country LeBara after landing, until then use your SIM.

We just picked up a couple of Orange SIM cards today and they’ve improved the deals. The €7 plan now includes 3GB and there is a €10 plan and €15 plan which includes 7GB.
