You don’t want to go on a weekend (Friday, Saturday or Sunday), it’s way too crowded.

Versailles is closed on Monday.

Some major museums in Paris are closed on Tuesday, so those people flock out to Versailles.

And on Wednesday, most of the French schoolchildren only have half a day of school, so they don’t take field trips to Versailles on that day either.

So, that leaves Wednesday as the best day to visit!
