Sadly the majority of books published on this earth are not available on amazon.com. Of course, books published in the US are there, but great rafts of books published in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America don’t get a look-in on amazon.com. But give thanks for good old-fashioned bookshops, the best of which will still order any book from the most far-flung corner of the planet. And the global Inter-Library Loan (ILL) system still remains one of humankind’s greatest inventions. Go into your local library in any one of 173 countries and they’ll get the book for you from another library in the system – often for free.
