Thanks for your comment and I’m glad to hear you’re looking forward to visiting London in October. Regarding safety, like any city, you just need to keep your wits about you in London – keep belongings out of sight, stick to busier roads etc, but generally I think you’ll find it is a safe city. Most hotels have reception desks but, if you’d like to have your own space, you are probably best going for a private room in a hotel rather than a shared dorm room in a hostel. There are plenty of good value places to eat – take a look through our previous London posts on cheap restaurants, cafes and supermarkets and I’m sure you’ll find lots of inspiration! Another good option may be to rent an apartment (e.g. the Stylotel Suites which are reviewed in our London hotels section) and then you can prepare some of your meals at home, which is always a good way to save money.

Hello Nina!
Its really a helpful article! It assures me of fulfilling my dream of visiting london in my limited budget. but I have few questions. what about the safety? is it safe to stay in these hotels? what about the food? It good n cheap food available around these hotels?

We are four persons(two couples) want to visit Europe including London in October this year in a cheap budget. Can you pl guide me?
