We’re hard at work on many additional search features including the ability to categorize hostels by travel type, just as you mention!

One other search feature that we’re very excited about includes helping travelers sort hostels by their distance to popular tourist sites; for example, only viewing hostels that are 1/4 mile from Sacre Coeur in Paris. If you have any other suggestions for the site, we’d be happy to hear them!
