Hi! I was last year in Barcelona, I found a good and cheap restaurant placed in the center of Barcelona city, Divinus restaurant in my opinion is a really good restaurant with quality food and service.

Xaica is a popular place but I don’t think that it meets the EuroCheapo requirements of “cheap but not shabby”. Last time I went there there was a cockroach on one of the walls of the dining area. Of course I decided not to eat there again. This is not the kind of standard I would support for visitors who come to Barcelona.

Just returned from a 3 night stay in Barcelona with my wife. Stayed at the Europarc Hotel which is a 10 min walk from the Sagrada and the main square. Couldn’t fault it on quality, location or price.

Before we left I reviewed your website hoping to find a few quality restaurants at affordable prices and I’m glad I did as we had good food all holiday.

First night we went for dinner at La Rita (Carrer de Arago) and had the set menu 3 courses for 40 Euro/2 people which included water and wine. Food and service were 1st class, so good infact we returned a second night. Also went to Madrid Barcelona Restaurant on the opposite side of the street – also excellent food. My wife had the Catalan Stew which arrived in a pot on the table complete with ladel to serve. I had the sirloin steak which was delicious.

Els Pollos de Llull was an experience and not what we expected – a huge space opens up from the street and a wall of spit roast chickens are ready for serving. We had half a chicken each with chips. Unfortunately the set deal wasn’t on at the weekend but however it was still good value and great food!
