Taking the train to Monserrat can be a bit confusing especially with ticketing at the ESPANA station. At the destination you have to take care that your ticket is for use of the funicular up to the monastery or the use of the cable car. Instructions on the ticketing machines are not very clear and finding helpful staff is non existent.
