The French house unveils the contours of a new version of its iconic N°5, resolutely fresh and modern. To put this olfactory creation in the spotlight, Chanel called on Lily-Rose Depp, the brand’s ambassador for several seasons already. “Chanel N’°5 L’Eau” will be available from September 2.
After perfumers Ernest Beaux and Jacques Polge delivered their interpretation of Chanel’s emblematic perfume, it’s Olivier Polge’s turn to create his variation of N°5. As the house on rue Cambon points out, it is also much more than yet another version of this emblem of perfumery.
Not a cologne
“‘N°5 L’Eau’ is not a cologne. Nor is it a diluted version of the original perfume because each variation is actual olfactory creation at Chanel. ‘N°5 L’ Eau’ is today’s No. 5. A composition that makes modernity its standard and freshness its leitmotif”. At the origin of the new fragrance, Olivier Polge gave pride of place to aldehydes associated with citrus fruits (lemon, mandarin, orange) and a floral bouquet (rose, oxygenated jasmine, ylang-ylang). All wrapped in the softness of vetiver, cedar and musks.
